Do you want abs like these? Here's how you can get a six pack of your own
When it comes to getting in shape, for many people the quest to achieve flat abs is almost like seeking
the Holy Grail. You have done hundreds of crunches and tried numerous fad diets, but the pursuit of attaining washboard abs
remains elusive.
Truth is, magnificent abs are the result of routine exercise and weight control through a balanced diet,
says Wayne Hawkins, a certified personal trainer from St. Louis. Remember the cliche, 'You are what you eat?' Well, it is
true. If you eat fat," he says, "you will gain weight. A low-fat diet and exerciese routine allows you to burn
more calories than you consume. This in turn will decrease body fat and reveal your abdominal muscles." |

Dr. Rovenia M Brock, the nationally known nutritionist and author of Dr. Ro's Ten Secrets to Livin' Healthy, agrees with
Hawkins. Too many times, she says, people embark on an exercise routine, but fail to monitor their food intake and then
wonder why their waistband isn't shrinking. "Diet and exercise really do go hand-in-hand in the effort to maintain tight
abs. Weight control and managing a diet and exercise routine is work we'll have to do for the rest of our lives."
